Common format for preparation of project reports
Structure of  Project Report
( Maximum words: 5,000)

Cover page:
(It will contain the title of the project, name of the student, class, roll nos.  and supervisor)
Certificate:
(The supervisor will certify that the work is bona-fide piece of work carried out by the students(s) under his supervision)
Acknowledgement:
(The student will acknowledge his/her gratitude to all who helped during the project work)
Abstract/Executive summary:
(Here a summary about the project is to be written)
Content:
(Chapters with page nos. will have to be distinctively written)
List of Table:
(Here list of Tables, if any, along with page numbers to be written)
List of Figures/Graphs:
(Here list of Graphs, if any, along with page numbers to be written)
Abbreviations:
(Give a list of standard abbreviations used in the text of the project)

Tentative chapters of the project

1.   Introduction: A project is to be carried out focusing on specific area or subject and introduction of the area/subject is to be given in this part. It may include definitions, concepts, scope etc., in regard to the particular area/subject. Information provided in this part may be sourced from secondary source like books, articles etc.
2.   Literature review:
The relevance or need for carrying out of a project may well be supported with reference to works already done earlier in the similar field or subject. A discussion about the objectives and findings of such earlier works can be summed up here. Where a particular published article or data from existing sourced are used, reference must be made in the text with author’s title and year of publication and accordingly these must me shown in the reference column of the project.
3.   Aim and Objectives of the study/project:
As each project will target to achieve or arrive at a particular objective(s), these should be clearly mentioned in this part. A project may have several objectives which are to be specified clearly.



4.   Methodology:
To arrive at the project objectives, certain well-defined methods are applied which may vary from project to projects. In this part the methodology followed will be explained in lucid manner and generally may relate to data source, population, sample size, survey method, study area, analytical/statistical methods used, limitations etc., if/wherever applicable.
5.   Analysis/Findings:
      Here discussions or analyses are to be made particularly to address the achievements of the project. Generally discussions or hypotheses testing, if any are made and different statistical tools like Tables, Diagrams etc may be used to depict the outcome. The discussions should be made in consonance with the objectives of the project.
6.   Conclusion/ summary of findings:
In this part, the findings of the study are summarized and the views are given citing the reasons outcome extracted from analyses or discussions.

(List the books, articles, web sources etc., used in the text)

Reference styles
For books:
Author name, year, title of the book, publisher with place of publication.
Articles in journal/periodicals:
Author name, year, title of the article, name of the journal, volume and issue no, page number
Online articles with author name:
Author name, year, title of the article, retrieved from URL link
Web sources without author name:
Title of the article, retrieved from URL link
News paper:

Title of the article, news paper name, date and year, page number.
